Nippon Kempo – Japanese Martial Arts

Nippon Kempo is a Japanese martial arts that uses punches, kicks, joint locks and grappling techniques. It combines techniques from Judo, Jujutsu, Boxing, Karate, etc. This martial arts was developed in 1932 by Muneomi Sawayama. Nippon Kempo is popular in Japan and has spread to other countries such as the United States (where it is also called American Nippon Kenpo), England, France and other nations.

This is a full contact marital arts. When sparring, students wear traditional protective equipment called bogu. Bogu consists a chest protector (do), boxing gloves, traditional facemask (men) and a groin protector (matate).
