Tree Pose – Yoga for Martial Arts Flexibility
This page provides details for the Tree Pose. This Yoga exercise is used by martial arts students in order to work on balance. For an even greater balance workout, many martial arts schools tell their students to close their eyes while maintaining this pose.
Balance exercises are often taught to younger martial arts students in order to help them learn how to accurately throw a kick from different positions, to avoid being off-balance during sparring, to avoid stumbling during a kata or form, etc.
All stretches and exercises should be supervised by a trained instructor in order to prevent injuries and to ensure the proper technique is utilized.
