Bird Dog Exercise – Martial Arts Strength Training
This page looks at the strength training exercise known as the “Bird Dog” exercise. This is an exercise that will build up core strength and add some variety to martial arts conditioning routines. A strong core helps punching power, kicking power and grappling techniques. Some martial artists also develop their core muscles in order to better absorb hits (i.e. a punch to the stomach).
