Knee Planks – Martial Arts Strength Exercise
This page looks at the strength training exercise known as Knee Planks. This plank exercise is used to improve core strength. For more advanced planks (i.e. Superman Plank), please visit the main Plank Exercises section.
This modified plank is useful for beginners because it is easier to perform than traditional forearm planks or straight arm planks. In this exercise, students are resting on their knees versus the traditional plank position where they rest on their feet.
All stretches and exercises should be supervised by a trained instructor in order to prevent injuries and to ensure the proper technique is utilized.
