One Legged Squat Reach – Balance & Strength Exercise

This page provides details for the One Legged Squat Reach. This is an exercise used to improve the balance of martial arts students. It is also used to strengthen the calf, core and glute muscles.

  • Stand on one leg with knee slightly bent.
  • Raise other leg modestly off the ground.
  • With the hand opposite the standing leg, reach down to the opposite side of body and touch the ground.
  • Repeat this balance exercise by standing on the other leg.
