This page looks at the Yoga Peacock Pose (or Mayurasana). This is an advanced Yoga pose used to build arm and core strength. It also works on a person’s glutes and lower back muscles. Given the balance and strength required for this pose, the Yoga Peacock Pose can be a very difficult pose for beginners.
- Place your wrists close together with your elbows placed in your abdomen
- Begin leaning your weight onto your hands
- Once you are balanced on your hands, fully extend your legs
- Hold that position for a few breaths
