Qwan Ki Do – Vietnamese Martial Arts Style

Qwan Ki Do (Quan Khi Do) is a Vietnamese martial arts founded by Pham Xuan Tong in the 1960s. The name Qwan Ki Do was first introduced in 1981. Qwan Ki Do means “The Way of Body’s Energy”. This martial arts is taught in over 30 countries.

Qwan Ki Do students practice punches, kicks, sweeps, traditional martial arts weapon techniques (Co Vo Dao), mediation and much more. Some of the traditional martial arts weapons include the “BONG (staff), the MOC GUOM (wood sword), the LONG GUOM (sword), the MA DAO (broadsword), the DAI DAO (long handle)”, etc.

This martial arts is guided by 10 fundamental principles including “To attain the highest technical level of Qwan ki Do by cultivating the notions of Effort, Perseverance, Self-confidence, and Respect for others, in the ancestral spirit of our Martial Art” and “To practice the moral virtues which are the very basis of Qwan ki Do. They are Rectitude of mind, Honesty, Gratitude, Simplicity, Modesty, and Tolerance”.
