List of Shoulder Stretches
Here are a variety of shoulder stretches used by martial arts students. These stretches are useful for martial arts students who do a lot of grappling, throws and/or punching. These shoulder stretches work primarily on the deltoid muscles. However, depending on the stretch, they can also help to stretch a person’s arms, chest and back. Shoulder stretches should also be done before any shoulder strength training exercise such as a shoulder press.

Shoulder Stretches – with written and/or video instructions
- Arm Circles or Shoulder Rotations
- Doorway Shoulder Stretch
- Posterior Shoulder Stretch or Crossover Arm Stretch
- Reverse Shoulder Stretch – This stretch also works on your chest muscles.
