Here are a variety of side stretches (or oblique stretches) used by martial arts students. Given the twisting and turning involved in any martial arts, most martial arts students add side stretches to their warm-up routines. Martial arts students also use side stretches or oblique stretches to reduce the potential for pulled oblique muscles, etc.
