Towel Triceps Stretch

Towel Triceps Stretch

This page provides details for the Towel Triceps Stretch. This stretch is used by martial arts students in order to loosen their triceps muscles (the muscles located in the back of your upper arms).

Triceps muscles are used in punching techniques (i.e. straight punch) and grappling techniques (in order to push an opponent away or turn them). Triceps stretches are used to warm up the triceps before martial arts training and any triceps exercises. Martial artists often use a towel triceps stretch in order to get a deeper stretch than the one provided by the standard standing triceps stretch.

All stretches should be supervised by a trained instructor in order to prevent injuries and to ensure the proper technique is utilized. For additional martial arts stretches targeting other areas of the body, please visit the main Martial Arts Stretches page.
