Wado-Ryu Kumite Kihon – Sanbonme (Kihon 3)

Instructions for Wado-Ryu Kumite Kihon 3
After bowing, the attacker takes one step forward and the defender takes one step backward, each assuming Migi Zenkutsu-dachi position (Right basic stance).
- Attacker (Torre)
- Migi Zenkutsu-dachi (Right basic stance)
- Lunge forward with Migi Tsukkomi Jodan (Right height punch)
- Adjust your feet, change arms and do Maegeri Chudan (Middle height kick)
- Defender (Uke)
- Migi Zenkutsu-dachi (Right basic stance)
- Move body obliquely backward and twist body to left to avoid punch while doing right Nagashi Soto-uke (middle block) to avoid punch
- As they go to execute the Maegeri. Push forward in Migi Zenkutsu-dachi position (Right basic stance), simultaneously strike with Uraken (Back fist) to the chest and Hidari Ippon Ken (Left one knuckle punch) to the knee.
- Notes
- When practicing this kihon do not strike the knee with full force (Defender stage 3) as this can cause permanent ligament damage if practiced repeatedly.
