The Sword of Doom – Samurai Movie

The Sword of Doom is a 1966 Japanese movie focused on a skilled but amoral swordsman who slowly goes insane. It stars Tatsuya Nakadai and Toshiro Mifune. Both stars have appeared in numerous highly-rated samurai movies. Be aware that samurai movies may not be appropriate for younger children given the bloody swordplay in many of these movies.

The movie review website, Rotten Tomatoes, states that critics rate this movie only as a 75. However, audiences rate it much higher as a 90.
