This movie was partially based on William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth. Be aware that samurai movies may not be appropriate for younger children given the bloody swordplay in many of these movies.

Toshiro Mifune starred in this movie and many other Kurosawa classics (i.e. Seven Samurai). Mifune also starred in other popular samurai movies such as Shogun.
